NORTHERN INDIANA EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER | MACONAQUAH HS vs PERU HS | HOCO GAME 2019

a very intense game game for Maconaquah High school. With multiple penalty calls and a neck and neck game the Braves pulled through in the last quarter. Students, Staff and Alumni with their families watched their team take them to victory as they played against their rival school to the north, Peru High School!

It was a grewling 70+ degree evening, but that didn’t stop our student section from having a great time and keeping their teams spirits alive throughout the game. Nothing was getting this crowd down. I think my favorite part was when Maconaquah student section pulled out their phones and waved them back and forth (like Lighters in a stadium) singing the song, “na na naa naa, hey hey hey, goodbyyye.” This was after the braves scored the final touchdown of the night beating Peru 43 to 27.

Peru Indiana | Event Photographer | Circus City Festival 2019

Some carry on their rich family tradition as second and third generation performers. While they call themselves an “Amateur” Circus, this is anything but. Peru Indiana is a hidden gem that should be on any Hoosiers list to visit.

Where do I begin?

Two years ago while my husband was house hunting in the state of Indiana for job relocation, he was told Peru Indiana was the circus capital of the world. I almost didn’t believe him, especially when he told me that the performer’s ages were from 5 to 21! I had to look it up! Low and behold, there it was, PERU INDIANA, CIRCUS CITY FESTIVAL!

Two years ago this west coast family packed ourselves up and headed to this small town of 11,000 people.  Every year so far, we have always attended the Circus. My kids beg me to be performers, but we are deep into baseball with my son and circus tryouts and practices fall right on baseball season. Instead we make it a family trip. Watching the show and riding all the rides!

This year they Celebrated 60 years of Circus tradition pulling out all the stops! From high wire and trapeze, to juggling and even the cutest mini clowns! This year they added the new “Dream catcher act”.

I want to send out a huge thank you to the Circus City Family for all the love you have given me this week! It has been a huge blessing to have gotten to know some of you this year! I was even more proud to see that one of my first Peru Seniors I photographed was crowned the Circus City Queen! I hope to see you next year! “MAY ALL YOUR DAYS BE CIRCUS DAYS”

Every July they put aside eight days to shut down the entire downtown for "Circus week". It’s basically a community carnival focused on celebrating the circus (Elephants and all).

Miami County, Indiana | Event Photographer | Miami County 4H Fair Royalty Pageants

The phone call started with a very frantic voice on the other end of the line. The photographer that normally photographs for the Miami County Duchess and Princess pageants had a wedding to cover. I am so thankful to be friends with this photographer, because she gave my name over to the pageant committee. This opportunity left me with a full heart and feeling so blessed to have been able to meet these beautiful ladies and contestants. Thank you to Lindsey at Snappy Giraffe Photography for allowing me the opportunity to photograph this year. To the Miami County Pageant Committee, Thank you for taking a chance on me, and I hope to be involved more next year!

The stage was decorated with candy decor. The contestants did a phenomenal job in their opening number. As a first time pageant goer, this left my feet tapping to the music choice and a smile on my face.

While the judges deliberated This was the time I was given the opportunity to do quick full length portraits of the contestants. Battling the sun and wind during the Princess pageant and fighting the lighting clock during the Dutchess pageant we still had fun. In the end the contestants and the photos were beautiful. These photos were printed by Millers lab and gifted to the girls (this was my favorite part).

Being able to give something to these girls for doing an amazing job was my absolute pleasure!

Bunker Hill, Indiana | Event Photographer | Bunker Hill Baseball Parade

Today is a day to celebrate. The work these kids put into getting better at this sport always amazes me. I think the most enjoyable part about being involved in a little league is watching the progress they make by the end of each season. Watching these kids hit the ball for the first time makes me burst with joy as you can see the pride on their faces.

With no help from this year’s weather, Bunker Hill Baseball Season has come to a close. due to delayed or rescheduled games, some families with multiple players this year almost lived at the fields. Mother Nature was not much of our friend. When I mention to friends that last year was excruciatingly hot and humid, the only thing they can say is, “welcome to Indiana, you don’t like the weather? Wait ten minutes.” I think that sums it up!

Bunker Hill Baseball | Indiana Family Photographer |Rebecca Daniell Portraits

Last week there was a fairly high chance of thunderstorms so they had postponed our parade day to the next weekend. While the normal turn out wasn’t as much as last year, I think it went off without a hitch. With the help of some local farmers, the Pipe Creek fire and Miami county Sheriff’s departments they lead the way for our team floats!

It isn’t a Bunker Hill Parade without our very own Maconaquah Marching band and Guard. They never disappoint and I can’t wait to see them more in the next school year!

One of my favorite creative floats was the Minor League’s Astro team. Coaches were dressed up in coconuts and hula skirts. While the players enjoyed throwing candy to the onlookers.

ELEVATE ELEMENTARY GALA 2017

The last 3 years I had the privilege to photograph and participate in an outstanding fundraising event! Elevate Elementary held their third annual gala at the Ascension Church. This year was the 1920's speak easy feel, this was a fitting and yet stunning location to celebrate and honor our future leaders and innovators. witnessing the amount of compassion these Teachers/ Staff and donors have for these children warmed my heart. They truly care about the welfare of our future.  The amount of funds raised for this event I know will go towards a great cause! It is sad to say this will be my last gala for the school. Thank you so much Elevate for allowing me to be apart of such a beautiful event and school!
